Staff International Education Award
The International Education Awards are sponsored by the Office of International Programs.
Award Description:
The Staff International Education Award recognizes non- faculty university employees who support internationalization efforts at UNC Charlotte. Areas to be considered include: Advising efforts that support international students or promoting study abroad, university service for international education events (e.g. volunteering at the international festival), or support for international student groups or other globally-focused activities on campus.
Award:
The International Education Award recipient will receive a plaque of recognition and a $750 stipend for travel or professional development.
Eligibility:
Any non-faculty university employee. Office of International Programs’ staff are not eligible.
Nominations
The nomination period is open until September 16,2024.
- All non-faculty staff members of UNC Charlotte are eligible to nominate a colleague.
- Self-nomination is also acceptable (if self-nominating, proceed directly to the application form).
- Submit the online nomination form.
- The nominee will be notified immediately of his/her nomination.
- Each nominee is required to submit additional documents and information pertinent to his/her application. No further action is needed by the nominator unless the nominee requests a letter of support.
Application Submission
The deadline for a Staff International Education Award nominee to complete the award application package is October 7th, 2024.
Before submitting the application form please note that you will need to obtain the following:
- One recommender who is prepared to provide a letter of support: You will be asked to enter the name and email of the person you are requesting to write the letter. Please ask your recommender to use the recommendation form found below. The letter of support should reference the staff member’s contribution to promoting internationalization at UNC Charlotte in the ways mentioned above. The recommendation deadline is October 8th, 2024.
- A 1-page personal statement/summary of promotion of internationalization efforts at UNC Charlotte.
- A short description (1 paragraph) of one’s role in their department/college.
When you are ready, please submit the online application form and upload your supporting documents.
Awardee Notification
Once the awards committee selects the awardee, then notification will be shared.
The award will be recognized during International Education Week at the IEW Opening reception.
