Community Responsibility & Cultural Engagement Opportunities

All residents are leaders within the Global Gateways (GG) community. Residents are expected to plan and attend two events during their assigned month: One cultural event and one social event. GG members collaborate with diverse voices on the planning and implementation of their events.  

 Ideas regarding events include, but are not limited to the following:

• International social engagement ( tea dialogue, karaoke, book club)
• International cultural engagement (foreign film nights, picnic with cuisine from diverse cultures, games from around the world)
• Internationally-related community service (refugee tutoring program, conversation hour with English Learners, women’s shelter, etc.)

Additionally, GG participants are expected to be active members of the community also in the aesthetic upkeep of their apartments and the common areas. Furthermore, residents are required to attend a monthly meeting held on select Sunday evenings to foster communication, collaboration, and community-building within Global Gateways.
