Virtual Dance Performance
Event Date:
November 20, 2020 – 7:30 PM to November 21, 2020 – 8:59 PM
Join the Department of Dance for a virtual performance that will showcase an array of genres, including Indian dance, martial arts, and somatic practices (techniques based on the dancer’s internal sensation). This performance honors the UNC Charlotte community that experienced tragic loss and violence on April 30, 2019, honoring the lives lost and the lives forever changed on that day.
This performance is made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts grant. The grant sponsors an arts residency by a Minnesota based contemporary Indian dance company, Ananya Dance Theatre, that creates work at the intersection of artistic excellence and social justice.
This blend of dance-for-camera video and filmed site-specific and staged dance pieces will be live streamed via Zoom. The event is FREE, but tickets are required for viewing. Click here to reserve your spot!
