The Marian Beane Crossing Borders Writing Competition is an internationally themed annual writing contest for UNC Charlotte students. The Writing Competition is sponsored by the Office of International Programs and the English Language Training Institute (ELTI).

Theme: Different culture. Different me. How has your international experience affected your perspective of the world?

Guidelines: Submissions must be original essays, short stories or reports based on the student’s experience, and may be no more than 1000 words, typed, and double-spaced. Include your full name and UNC Charlotte email address on your submission.

Eligibility Criteria: The contest is open to current UNC Charlotte undergraduates, graduates and upper level students (4, 5, & 6) of the English Language Training Institute (ELTI).
