Components of Class to Class GNL

<< Class to Class GNL

  1. Icebreakers/Team Building: The icebreakers and/or team building activities prepares students to learn about each other, communicate and collaborate with each other successfully throughout the GNL experiences. Icebreaker/team building activities can be done either synchronously or asynchronously. When carefully designed and well implemented, these activities are also enjoyable for students.
  2. A Collaboration Project: The collaborative project of a Class to Class GNL facilitates intercultural learning and develops power skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, team working, and digital literacy for students. The collaborative project can take a variety of forms depending on the discipline(s) of a Class to Class GNL, including but not limited to: jointly created presentations, podcasts, videos, virtual symposium.
  3. Reflection and Assessment: Upon successful completion of the collaborative project, it is essential for faculty to have students reflect on their Class to Class GNL experience and assess their learning and gained skills. The Office of Global Learning provides a set of Student Learning Outcomes designed specifically for Class to Class GNL, and can help faculty assess their students.
