2026 Tentative Schedule and Speakers

Global Learning and Internationalization Institute

The 2026 Global Learning and Internationalization Institute will take place on May 11, May 12, May 14 and May 15 (no meeting on May 11), each day from 8.30am-3pm.

Below is a tentative schedule and speakers for the 2026 GLII, a final schedule will be published in late April 2026.

Day 1 (Monday May 11)

  • Welcome, Introduction and Overview of the Institute
  • Comprehensive Internationalization
  • Career Value of International Engagement: A conversation with the Provost and Selected Deans 
  • Curriculum Internationalization
    • Lunch
  • Global Learning and Intercultural Competency
  • Global Learning Frameworks
  • Day 1 Extension: Visit Charlotte Global Website 

Day 2 (Tuesday May 12)

  • Understanding your Intercultural Development: A group Debrief of Intercultural Development Inventory 
  • UNC Charlotte Exchange Partnerships: who they are, where they are and what are opportunities for faculty?
  • “Design and Assessment of Discipline-Based Global Learning” (Kirsten Davis, Ph.D. Purdue University)
    • Lunch
  • Globally Networked Learning
  • Publishing your Research with a Global Learning Focus
  • Day 2 Extension: How will you use your IDI results? What are you going to internationalize?

The 2026 Global Learning and Internationalization Institute will not meet on Wednesday May 13
